Canine camping

“Hello dog friends, my name is Damon and I am Carole's four-legged helper. It is very important to me and to my owner that people and animals are considerate of each other. For this reason, leashes are compulsory on the entire site. Dogs are not allowed on the playground, in the pool or in the sanitary facilities.

To make sure that everyone – including our dogless guests – gets along harmoniously, I have listed some tips for camping with any fellow dogs below. Please pay attention and we wish you all a wonderful stay. See you soon... Woof”

We are always looking forward to meeting your well-trained four-legged friends on our campsite.

Your dog too will enjoy a holiday at the JungfrauCamp. There are countless dog-friendly hiking routes all around. The nearby “Lombach” or the two surrounding lakes (Lake Brienz and Lake Thun) offer lots of fun and games. Whether in the mountains or simply on the surrounding forest paths, the whole region is very dog-friendly and guarantees an eventful holiday for you and your canine companion.

Tricks and rules for relaxed camping with your dog

Holiday training

Your dog is not used to driving around in your camper van? Then go for a short ride beforehand – this will help lower their stress.

Did you remember everything?

Remember to bring their usual food, bed and toys; this helps getting used to the new environment.

Take breaks

Remember to take regular breaks on long journeys, preferably every three to four hours. To ensure that your dog feels comfortable in the car or camper van and is happy to get back in at any time during the journey, every journey should end on a happy note. For example, go for a nice walk, give your dog a cuddle or reward them with a special treat.

On the campsite

Finally! You have arrived! Before you start pitching the tent and finding the perfect parking position, take care of your dog. Put them on a leash and take them for a walk around the campsite. Explore the surroundings together and show your four-legged friend where their “home” will be for the next few days. You want to also pay attention to your campsite neighbours. Not only at home, but on holiday too, mutual consideration is essential for a harmonious neighbourhood. Dogs are not allowed on the children's playground, in the pool or in any sanitary facilities.

We ask dog owners that their canine companion explore our campsite only on a leash and not by themselves. If possible, business must be done outside the camping area or otherwise removed immediately. You can find the nearest dog toilet on the layout map.

Trips

Be sure to take enough drinking water with you on all-day hikes. If you leave the caravan for a longer period of time, do not leave your dog alone. Even if they behave well when staying alone at home, everything can be different on holiday.

Relax

When following all of these rules, don’t forget the most important one: relax! You are on holiday and should use this time first and foremost to unwind and enjoy the time together with your dog. The more relaxed you are on holiday, the quicker your dog will get used to the new environment and they will enjoy the camping trip with you even more.

Veterinary help

There is a caring veterinary hospital team in the neighbouring village of Interlaken – just in case your dog needs veterinary attention on your camping holiday.
